Open Call for the Residency of Prof. Grega Košak 2027

Thanks to a donation from the late Slovenian architect, urban planner, designer, and intellectual Prof. Grega Košak (1932–2023), the Academy of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Ljubljana (UL ALUO) invites foreign students and professionals to participate in its residency programme in Ljubljana in 2027 for a period of one semester.

We are inviting artists, designers, restorers, theorists, and researchers from around the world (except Slovenia) to spend four and a half months living in an apartment in the heart of Ljubljana. The residency provides accommodation in Ljubljana to support research, and artistic and design practice.

This call is aimed at creators and researchers, including PhD students, early-career researchers, and postdoctoral researchers, who work in or are connected to the fields covered by the UL ALUO. Applicants may be individuals or groups of up to four people.

We welcome applications from individuals with ambitious projects that explore the relationships between spatial, social, and environmental contexts. Engagement with the UL ALUO teaching programme both before and after the residency is also desirable.

Available period of the residency: 15 February to 30 June 2027.

Applications should be sent to: international@aluo.uni-lj.si.

Deadline for applications: 20 September 2026 (by midnight, CET)
